A Legacy Built Over Time

Tracing our roots and the foundation of excellence.

Abdul Kadir Mollah City College (AKMCC), established in 2006 in Narsingdi, is widely recognized as one of Bangladesh’s leading institutions for higher secondary education. Founded by renowned industrialist and philanthropist Abdul Kadir Mollah, the college was created to expand access to modern, disciplined, and high-quality learning opportunities in the region. From the beginning, AKMCC focused on academic excellence, moral development, and student-centered teaching practices. Its consistent achievements in HSC examinations—especially repeated 100% pass rates and exceptionally high numbers of GPA-5 results—quickly elevated its national reputation. Supported by experienced faculty, advanced laboratories, an enriched library, and active co-curricular clubs, the college has become a trusted destination for students seeking strong academic foundations. Today, AKMCC symbolizes commitment, progress, and educational transformation.

Introduction

In its early years, AKMCC experienced rapid growth driven by strong leadership, disciplined academic structures, and a commitment to modern educational standards. Soon after opening in 2006, the college became one of the top performers under the Dhaka Education Board. It ranked 5th in 2009, 7th in 2011, and reached an impressive 2nd place in 2012, 2013, and 2014. These achievements were supported by experienced faculty, well-equipped science laboratories, advanced ICT facilities, and a dedicated library. The introduction of Science, Business Studies, and Humanities streams increased enrollment, attracting students from neighboring districts. Residential hostels, cultural activities, science clubs, and debate teams enriched student life. Through these foundational strengths, AKMCC established itself as a rising academic institution committed to excellence and meaningful student development.

Early Beginnings

The future of AKMCC builds upon its strong legacy of academic excellence, community service, and institutional growth. With over 3,300 students and more than 100 faculty members, the college continues expanding its academic programs, digital learning initiatives, and modern teaching environments. Its long-term goals include strengthening honours and master’s programs, enhancing research facilities, and introducing advanced technological resources throughout the campus. Graduates consistently secure admission to elite universities such as BUET, Dhaka University, medical colleges, and respected international institutions, demonstrating the college’s lasting impact. Under the guidance of founder Abdul Kadir Mollah and the Mojid Mollah Foundation, AKMCC aims to uphold high standards of discipline, innovation, and character-building. The institution is positioned to shape future generations with confidence and integrity.
